Shipping Policy

How transport from Europe is arranged, what is included in a quotation and what remains the buyer's responsibility.

Last updated: September 2026

1. Where we ship from

Orders are prepared and loaded in Europe. The loading location depends on the product type and the supplier of the lot, and is confirmed in your quotation.

2. Services available

Not every service is available for every destination. Availability is confirmed per enquiry, never assumed.

  • European road freight for pallet and bale consignments inside Europe.
  • Groupage and consolidated freight where route, warehouse and carrier permit.
  • 20ft and 40ft sea containers, port to port.
  • Door delivery at destination where the route and local regulation allow it.

3. Incoterms

The Incoterm applying to your order is stated in the quotation and on the invoice.

  • EXW: you collect from the loading address and arrange everything onwards.
  • FOB: we deliver to the agreed port of loading and hand over to your carrier.
  • CFR and CIF: we arrange sea freight to the named destination port; CIF adds cargo insurance.
  • DAP or DDP, where available: delivery to an agreed address, with DDP including destination duties and taxes.

4. Loading capacity and quantities

Container capacity depends on packing method, pallet or bale dimensions, weight, whether units may be stacked and the payload limit of the container supplied. Our container calculator provides planning estimates; the loaded quantity is confirmed with each quotation.

5. Transit times

Preparation time depends on lot availability and inspection, and sailing time depends on carrier schedules, transhipments, port operations and customs. All timings given before shipment are estimates and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

6. Documents

Documents are issued after the agreed payment terms are met and are sent electronically, with originals couriered where required.

  • Commercial invoice and packing list.
  • Bill of lading or transport document.
  • Certificate of origin, fumigation or inspection certificates where the destination requires them.

7. Import responsibilities

Import permits, duties, taxes, pre-shipment inspection and restrictions on used clothing and footwear differ by destination and change over time. You must confirm that your consignment can legally be imported before shipment. Final responsibilities are set out in the quotation and the sales agreement.

8. Damage, shortage and loss in transit

Check the condition of seals and packing on arrival and record any damage or shortage on the delivery document before signing. Insurance cover, where included, is stated in the quotation; see our Returns and Claims Policy for how to submit a claim.
